Yazd, Iran

"Yazd, Iran a woman walks with her daughter on a deserted street in the waning winter sun. Little stirrs here in the late afternoon during the Persian siesta."

  1. Is it really called a siesta there too? Why haven't we Americans adopted such custom?

  2. Well, it is a siesta in all but name, I'm not sure what the Farsi term is for it, but I will ask around and find out. I have to admit though, as nice as a three hour nap time in the middle of the afternoon would be, when you are visiting a place it sure makes for a devastating lack of anything to do.
